The staff welcomed us right away, and we quickly found a table. Our server was both friendly and attentive. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and although I usually struggle to find something suitable because I am vegan and gluten-free, there was a lovely salad on the menu. My husband and grandson opted for the ribs, along with baked beans, coleslaw, and fries, and they were very pleased with their choices. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. We will definitely return in the future.
I tried to call three times, but no one answered. Even when I attempted the old phone number listed online twice, there was still no response. I figured they might be closed for the holiday, so I checked their Facebook page and saw that online ordering had been suspended around 5:30 PM due to high volume. No problem, since I live nearby, I decided to go in person to place my order. When I arrived, there was no line, and the restaurant was only about 25% full. I spent several minutes ordering, and by the time I finished, only one other customer had come in behind me. They have a Monday special for just $5.99 on pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, but I noticed a sign indicating that the deal was dine-in only. When I jokingly asked if we could still get the deal since I was ordering two pulled pork sandwiches along with the rest of my meal, they consulted a manager who was unfriendly about it. Honestly, I should’ve just ordered a drink, taken a seat, and grabbed a to-go box since I was already planning to tip. But I understand that rules are rules, even if they don’t seem fair. However, being polite shouldn’t be hard, especially when the promotions are unclear and the signs have been changed after printing. I left with my Swine^2, some pork trays, and sandwiches for my family. Unfortunately, the BBQ and sides—red potatoes, collard greens, and cornbread—were all underwhelming tonight. It's just disappointing to see one of my favorite spots not delivering as expected.
I visited this restaurant for the first time while I was in town for the day and decided to have lunch there. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn’t drenched in barbecue sauce as I expected. Instead, they provide plenty of sauce options on the table, allowing you to add as much as you want. I’ll likely return the next time I'm in town to try something different.
One of the few places where I should have listened to the reviews. Ordered non-marbled brisket. Was room temp, dry and tough. Only way I was able to eat some of it was to drench it in the BBQ sauce, which was decent. Mac n’ cheese side was crusty. Seems like the food had been sitting there for a few hours. I ate a few of the pieces of brisket and 2 bites of the mac n' cheese and threw the rest away. Won’t return and I don’t recommend this place. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I liked the BBQ sauce
Have eaten there many times, and every time we go we say we’re not going back, but tried it again tonight . Brisket was dry, tough chewy. Very disappointed, again. Too expensive for the quality. Won’t go again
