Don't think twice—this is the best Mexican restaurant in town! I've tried all the options during my 20 years living in Sarasota, and nothing compares.
I believe it's fair to say this is the best taqueria in Sarasota. The fact that it’s consistently busy with Spanish-speaking staff during lunch speaks volumes about the delicious food and reasonable prices. I'm a huge fan of the shrimp tacos and the carnitas, and the al pastor is also quite good. The best deals are the large lunch plates that come with rice and beans. The only time I was let down was during a visit close to closing time when the carnitas were a bit dry. Overall, lunch here is always fantastic.
The tortillas and salsa were delicious and homemade. The beech/stomach had beautiful spices, but a species had an overwhelming oily taste. The tongue was cut so small and was a bit tricky/dry. Usually I get a beautiful, braided, juicy tongue in these tacos. The staff was polite and we didn't wait long. Perhaps it is worth tasting one of their specialties, like the mole
The barbacoa and chorizo tacos are delicious and made to order. Their menu has a good variety. They have a few tables to sit and eat inside.
