The Greek Taverna - Sarasota

We had dinner at the Greek Taverna tonight and it was awesome! We had traditional Greek food from Greek Country bread to moussaka, spanakopita and for dessert a decadent piece of Galaktoboureko. It was warm right from the oven. It is made of phyllo dough, a creamy custard filling, and an unbelievable syrup, made with sugar, water, honey, cinnamon, and lemon zest. We will definitely be back. We were the only diners on a Friday night, which i will never understand. The food was absolutely delicious—one of the best spinach pies I’ve had in my life. The house salad was fresh and had great flavors and presentation. The server was friendly and attentive. Clean, welcoming, and super yummy! We will definitely return! I enjoyed my meal I had the lamb gyro and my friend had the moussaka. Both dishes were very tasty. Service was also good. So service, food and ambiance were exceptional.
