We came here for lunch when they had their own version of Savor Sarasota and called it appropriately Savor Rosemary. The interior of this establishment is very light and airy, a welcome respite to some of the darker downtown venues. We thoroughlyenjoyed the 3 course lunch. It was not very busy since the snow birds were gone. I had the fish chowder and the Taco Brisket. Wow, was this good and it was part of the prix fixe menu. After the excellent food I hardly wanted dessert but succumbed to aBananas Foster. We'll be back!
This restaurant is a gem in downtown Sarasota. There is inside dining with tables that have white tablecloths. Don?t be fooled by the clean inviting location. The breakfast and lunch menus are very reasonably priced. I had the Classic Breakfast with 2eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes and English muffin for $10.00. Ask for Alvin. Outside sidewalk dining for people watching isavailable.
To make matters worse, the staff played a loud TV/radio featuring Spanish shows and, of all things, the song "I Like Big Butts." Seriously? At one point, two staff members even stepped into the dining area to argue with the host about too many tables being seated in their section. There was raised voices and complaints about customers and tips—it was highly inappropriate. It felt more like a scene you’d expect at a Walmart than a nice restaurant. They clearly need someone with authority to manage the staff and keep things running smoothly. As for the food, the restaurant appears to understand how a nice brunch menu should be structured and how the dishes should look, but they lack the culinary skills to deliver on the execution. Even the roasted potatoes were tasteless, overcooked, and bland—something so basic should be easy to get right. It’s a fundamental part of any brunch menu. If I come across as bitter and angry, it’s because I’m still astonished by the antics and the total disregard for quality that was present in both the atmosphere and the food.
We had an excellent experience at this restaurant, thanks to the fantastic service provided by Adam, who was the best server we've had in a long time! The food was incredible; the Greek quiche was the best we've ever tasted, and we really enjoyed the unique twist on the avocado toast. The pancakes were delicious as well. We will definitely be returning soon, especially since this visit was right after Hurricane Ian. We truly appreciated everything!
