The Springwater Inn - Saratoga Springs

The hostess was an older lady who was absolutely out of line and just flat out rude. First, we had a reservation, called me because I was running 8 minutes late, however my party was there. Second, they lost power and we were willing to still sit and still have dinner. They wouldn’t service us and “drinks”. We received our food and having a great time, but wanted something else to drink so the serve was so nice to give us soda, the hostess flipped out and was made we were being served! This women then came over and said oh you guys got a light and have the perfect seating, a lot of people didn’t have that. She was so rude to our table. I have no idea why. She was disrespectful to her staff as well. We go here about once every two weeks, spend on average $200-$250 each time, tip 20% or more, and we will NEVER return.

We stayed here in March of 2023 and felt so comfortable in our room. The room was so clean, cozy and the attention to detail was amazing. Such a beautiful fireplace. Lyn and Leslie provided a great breakfast and made everyone feel welcome. We will be back soon.

Hostess sat us at a small table for two in a corner of the restaurant behind the booths, saying that the better and more central seats were for locals who expect them when they come in. I guess visitors to Saratoga get stuck into a corner. We both ordered the fish tacos and they had way too much cayenne pepper in the rub not good. We heard the people in the booth behind us sending them back and wished that we had done the same. The portion was also very small and not served with beans and rice as pictured above. A few pieces of wilted lettuce with a small piece of fish on top. More like an app or a starter than a main. Sorry to ding you, Brook Tavern, but we were very disappointed. BTW this was long after race season ended so there is no excuse.

Went out with a friend to try the this restaurant for Restaurant Week. The menu offered a great seafood options but I can no longer can do shellfish but I am Sure it is delicious. So we both went other the Pork rib mango habanero sauce appetizer ! It was delicious I hope They put this on their menu. We got the slow Braised pork that was delicious. Then desert was Banana cream pie . Best I ever had. Also we ordered the Orange Chocolate pot de cream. Delicious also! We also ordered drinks! Pumpkin Bourbon was delicious and a ipa beer from Vermont was good also! I recommend going to dinner here! Nice seating by a window and away from people so we could talk.

Nothing but quality all the way, haven’t been here in a few years not because of anything over than we live out of the state. This is a excellent spot for a drink and a first class dinner. We started with the Brussel sprouts delicious and a few oysters . than for the main dish pan seared walleye with a Smokey sauce , seared vegetables over risotto. A filet mignon with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. Service is great and the food exceptional , mind you we visit in the off season and it’s very busy. If your in the area and looking for a cozy place look no further. Make sure you reservation.
