The Ice Cream was creamy and delicious. The staff was very helpful speaking to us in both French and English. We also took advantage of the small WC. It is located right off the central square across from the church of the assumption of Mary.
After I spoke to him about being overcharged by staff at his restaurant, the proprietor forcibly detained me, even snatching my eyeglasses from my head, while delivering a stern speech about how ‘Corsica is for Corsicans and not for tourists, ' and that 'now that I was in Corsica, I needed to speak to Corsicans properly.’ This was one of the most remarkable experiences that I have ever had at any restaurant in my life, and I would advise that travelers are not particularly welcome here. My burger, however, was quite good.
Came here with a group of 6 friends on our first day in Corsica, which also happened to be Bastille Day. The owner was serving a minimal menu, so I can’t say too much about the food (although sure, I enjoyed my Corsican “grilled cheese” , but we were grateful that the owner was serving any food at all — most restaurants were only serving drinks due to the holiday! The ice cream, however, was great and is specially sourced by the owner from a local producer. He had all the classics, plus many local Corsican flavors including chestnut and an herb (thyme rosemary I believe flavor. Delicious and interesting! Above all, the owner was friendly and made us feel right at home.
Cest Sartene. Merci mille fois.. vivement que l'on revienne.. . L'année va être longue !
