Live in Switzerland we are quite used to the (very low) level of ease in Swiss mountain restaurants. Therefore, most people tend to reach more customer-friendly Alpine resources such as Austria or Italy. for a day trip seemed to be saddle, only 60 min. from home, the right choice. the number of pists is very small and usually with tow lifts that I thought died. but this was ok, as for a day it was actually fun. but the rudeness of this restaurant staff was not to believe. first they avoid looking into our direction for 20 minutes, although we try to point out that we were ready to order. then they pushed my son because they had opened a tiny 5 ml sniff bag and said that he was wasting him because he was free. but the best thing was when we came back quickly after paying an ugly bill when my daughter said she was thirsty. because we only had credit cards (which is more practical to wear during skiing), my man asked for a glass of water. the same waitress then insisted to see prove that the water was for the child and not for him! I know it is hard to believe.
Really great experience: much more than a typical restaurant on the ski slopes. we enjoyed very tasty Swiss cuisine and the best apfelstrudel of all time! really suggested also for the food price and the very nice terrace
We went past a shiny afternoon and were impressed by the beautiful building, so on the same night we reserved a table for dinner. we were a bit earlier than expected and the waitress didn't know how to deal with it. so we had to. outside the main restaurant waiting for about 10 minutes. no problem. first we were so impressed by the high price levels for the menus on the hut. after a past we got our table and the waitress was again a little hard and not very friendly, so we did not feel welcome at all. my wife is vegetarian and has found nothing suitable on the menu, so she has ordered a mix of appetizers and vegetables. each time the waitress had to ask from the kitchen and confirm whether this is possible or not. I tried to order a fondue for me, but this was not allowed: I was informed that they must be two to order a fondue, although it was not written on the menu! . ok, then we go after meat. eating was good, but with regard to the size it looked like in a gourmet restaurant and is not what it would expect from such a place in the mountains. still hungry we have to go for a dessert. meanwhile we were in balance with around 165 Swiss francs. no bottle of wine, only two glasses and only one meal with meat, the other vegetarian and two desserts. I asked for the bill of visa and they informed me that they did not accept credit cards! Come on, this is not a bargain restaurant and they only accept cash. everything in this restaurant is much too overpriced for what they deliver. they would like to play in a higher league, but struggle with customer-oriented and friendly service. superior!
Together with some friends we had lunch at this place after a hike to the Hochstuckli. The menu is not complex but fits nicely to the mountain look and feel of this place. Everybody ordered something different and everybody was happy. The waitress was friendly...and quick the food was not too expensive (hey! this is Switzerland... .
