Black-eyed Suzie's Upstate - SAUGERTIES

That was a wonderful place to eat in the hudson river valley. there were lots of fresh ingredients, a great menu (loved the corn-chowder), tasty drinks (the rosemary ice cream was fantastic,) and fantastic desserts (cheal!) intended to reserve, it is a very small restaurant.

Black-Eyed Suzie's has always perplexed me. They were never open when I walked by years ago, so I figured being off the main drag they were primarily catering. After some time, I did notice them open infrequently, and when they did they were usually pretty packed pre-Covid . Even once Covid began, they would have a handful of tables. Either way, it took forever for me to try it out even though I'm up the block. Pricing is like a nicer restaurant versus a fast casual place which is fine. Server I grabbed the takeout from was friendly, and food was on time. All things considered pretty convenient given how close we are. I ordered a cheeseburger, and unfortunately they forgo to include the cheese !!! . Should be criminalized. Still charged me for it, but rather than going back I just ran inside and slapped on a slice of my own cheese. The meat quality was great, although the bun fell apart pretty easily. Fries were very good too as was the pickle. Everyone else enjoyed their food. Might give this another shot one day, and just check the bag before I leave next time. Normally I find that tacky but in this case I wouldn't be able to justify not doing it.

Would give more stars if I could! Black Eyed Suzie's catered our wedding this past summer. The food was incredible and working with Cheryl was such a pleasure. Our guests continue to remind us how great everything tasted. Cheryl was kind, flexible, and organized everything you could ask for in a wedding vendor. Thanks to everyone at Black Eyed Suzie's for helping to make our wedding so wonderful!

I can't say enough about this restaurant every single item we tried was delicious, and the format of being able to take away food to serve a restaurant quality family style meal at home is perfect if you are vacationing with family at a vacation home in the Catskills. Everything from the creamy Mac and cheese to the vegetable sides to the bright and luscious overnight oats was a hit day after day in our house. Because the restaurant takes orders more like catering than like take out, you need to get your order in a few days before and choose a particular pick up slot. Make sure you get your order in on time (order by Wednesday for Friday) and watch out for the confirmation to make sure you make payment at the appropriate time. It takes a bit of planning to get take out food from here but the results are well worth it!

We ordered Thanksgiving dinner. Everything delicious. Pickup a breeze. Packaging first class. My concerns answered quickly. Will be back!
