This is a must go to the restaurant if you enjoy a picturesque atmosphere with excellent food and service! Very recommended. The scallops were unbelievable and the fried rice was covered with flounder and a special Zilantro sauce.
Amazing food and experience in an old South House! We chose the tasting menu of the 7-course cook (with optional wine pairing that was a lot of food, but a taste over a wide range of creative culinary dishes. We started with a three-part appetizer that came with a cheese filled puff pastries, a smoked fish and something else (so much food I can't remember. 2nd course was an ahi tuna cake (like a crab cake covered with avocado. The 3rd course was a scallop perfect meerrot brown, while the scallop delicate and tasty, accompanied by some lubricated cauliflowers. The 4th course was slowly cooking duck on a bed of kale and top with a fried egg. 5th course was an American snapper with a side of marinated vegetables and a tomato sauce that had a unique and tasteful taste. 6. Course was a nice piece of pork with a side of rich macaroni and cheese. 7. Course brought the candy you selected from the normal dessert menu. My wife chose the cheese cake, made with a hint of goat cheese, and had a crust with a perfect giant crunch. I chose the apple and berry cake with one side of ice. Both were good. The only thing that keeps it from a perfect 5.0 was the service. The service was not bad, but for a restaurant of this caliber and price point, you expect extremely attentive service. The courses were well delivered before their wine pairs, and before that, when our waiter (so-called our captain was ready to describe the dishes. He was a bit cunning, distracted from the atmosphere of a fine restaurant. If they wait more staff, they would achieve perfection. This also remains my favorite restaurant in Savannah (for special occasions).
But definitely worth it. Our group of nine ate at Elizabeth's and the staff treated the group very well. Food was creative in preparation and beautifully presented. My grouper was terrific like the lamb meatballs, but best was the little mint salad in between. It cleaned the palate just as he should. Desserts were also great. We really enjoyed the experience, although the costs were more than one would usually expect in Savannah.
Perfect Honeymoon Meal. We ate here to celebrate our honeymoon in Savannah and had a blast. Our captain was so much fun and gave us great advice on wine pairing and what to order. Aside from the great service, a highlight was the sweet little semi-private room we ate in, overlooking a garden. We also really enjoyed our salads, which included lots of fresh herbs (grown on-site) and an amazing oyster appetizer. We had a fantastic time!
