The service was acceptable, but there was a mix-up with our order; we received fish instead of shrimp. The fork provided was not very clean and had leftover food on it, but it was replaced quickly. We decided to eat the fish tacos but did let the waitress know about the initial order. We also tried the alfredo dish. It was decent, but not amazing. Unfortunately, the shrimp were not cleaned properly and were served without being deveined. Overall, the experience had its ups and downs.
**The Good:** The location is fantastic, and our bartender/waiter, Anthony, was excellent. The food was also enjoyable. **The Bad:** Unfortunately, the management was a significant issue. The grey-haired manager seemed to have a problem with our party of 40 even before we arrived, and his rude and confrontational demeanor persisted all night. The service was incredibly slow; it took us an hour and a half just to get our soup and salad. Also, the key lime pie dessert was just a tiny sliver of a slice.
If it were possible to give a rating lower than one star, Joe's Crab Shack would certainly deserve it. At 55 years old, I've fortunately never experienced food poisoning—until now. We ordered blackened shrimp, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and shrimp scampi, which was just acceptable. However, I also ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, and it was the worst dish I’ve ever encountered. I barely managed to eat two bites of the salad and a third of the salmon. The lettuce was not fresh; it was wilted, and I initially thought that was because of the dressing, but there was also dressing on the side. Right from the start, I should have sensed something was off when the salad came out; the lettuce tasted a bit rancid and had clearly seen better days. It felt like it had been rescued from the bottom of a wet bowl that had been sitting out for hours. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for any reason. The past 14 hours have been an absolute nightmare! Food poisoning is serious, and dining at Joe's was by far the worst decision I’ve ever made.
I came here with my husband and toddler on a Sunday around 6. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and beautiful view. We ordered quickly, but the food took forever. Multiple tables seated after us had their food before us. When the food arrived, it was clear that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time so my steak was over cooked and the plates were wicked hot. Our server never once checked on us after dropping the plates, until we got the check. Right after we got the food, we asked the manager to take a family photo for us, he gave us a yikes face, said give me a minute , left and neve came back. They weren 't even busy and we continued to see him around. I gave them 2 stars because the food did taste good and I liked the variety they offered on the kids menu.
Our server was obviously inexperienced but she was cheerful and courteous. Food was good. Beer selection was just average. Honey and my cuz had cocktails and those seemed really good.
