We only have a few days in Savannah and my kids wanted pizza tonight. After some research online we settled on Squirrel's. I was impressed with what I found online. It looked like a cool place and the name/logo was cool. The pictures online looked good but after looking at so many places I forgot this was the place where people said the pies were small. After reading the menu and seeing all pies are approx 12 inches I knew I made a mistake. My wife and I had a big breakfast at Fox Fig this morning and decided to skip lunch. Our kids had some sandwiches from a fast food spot this afternoon. My wife and I were very hungry by the time we got to Squirrel's. We had hoped to eat outside but those tables were full. We ate at the first table by the door. We saw multiple people come in waiting (a long time) for orders that I assume were called in. One lady was there for so long, I felt sorry for her. I overheard her name when they came out with another order. She eventually told one of the ladies working that she going to wait outside. I saw multiple people leave with takeout orders while she waited outside. Eventually I thought I heard her name and that her order was ready. I ended up going outside to tell her I think they called her name. I felt like creep but she had waited long enough I wasn't going to ignore it. My wife and I are vegan but the kids eat whatever they want. We ordered a pineapple and bacon pizza for them and a roasted vegetable pizza for us. We added the hot cherry peppers but they didn't make it on our pizza. For appetizer the kids had wings and we ordered the bread without cheese and a side of sauce. It took 90 minutes from ordering until the food arrived. It was a bummer of a dinner because we had plans to go to the riverfront that evening but had to scrap that. It wasn't the wait st
If you are looking for wood fired pizza in Savannah, look no further. The pizza is amazing, the service is great and the bar is really cozy too. I do not think any place in the city beats the prices of Squirrel pizza for the quality of pizza we had. If we are ever back in the city, we will be stopping by again.
Ehhh....fail... Pizza is cold, pizza is 10 1/2 for 20$ Absolutely not worth it... Don 't waste your money here or your time The 2 girls sitting in the back booth seemed more occupied with their phones then a new customer that came in to pickup an order. Then they, along with the guy making pizza was clueless if they had made the order or made it twice. The chef trained in national restaurants needs to address the staff 's training in food production and awareness or I don 't see this place having longevity in the hospitality industry here.
Nice quiet eatery and bar. Pleasant atmosphere, relaxed, with outdoor dining to enjoy beautiful days, with excellent food and service. I agree with other reviewers and the pizza can be a little bigger. However, the taste makes up for that outstandingly.
Decent Wood Fired pizza. Hand tossed, sourced with local ingredients and made in a true wood fired oven. No gas, no Fryers etc but true wood fire. Great pizza and apps especially for someone like myself that comes from Chicago and we have amazing pizzas out there. The chicken wings were okay, no ranch was given just a slice of lime which was kinda weird, there isn?t any hot sauces either.
