It's fantastic to find a place that offers tasty and affordable gluten-free options. I tried the cornmeal-battered catfish with grits, and it was surprisingly generous in size. My husband ordered the chopper loop, and he enjoyed it thoroughly.
This is the best restaurant in Savannah! We tried the Ruck chicken accompanied by buttery sweet potatoes, black-eyed bean relish, and dill-flavored Lima beans, as well as the pecan-crusted chicken served with sweet potatoes and lemon collards. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Ruck chicken had a perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness, enhanced by just the right amount of spices. The buttery sweet potatoes and relish complemented it beautifully. The pecan-crusted chicken was equally impressive, paired with crispy potatoes and savory greens. The food was fresh and incredibly flavorful. Make sure to save room for dessert! The coconut cake and banana pudding were outstanding. My wife, who has tried coconut cake at restaurants across the country, declared this one the best she’s ever had. The service was also excellent—friendly staff with great food recommendations! A tip: arrive early on Saturdays to beat the rush. On our way out, a local remarked that this is the best restaurant in Savannah, and we wholeheartedly agree!
I'm so glad we decided to try this place last night of our holiday. It was delicious. My husband got the Jamaican Ruck chicken and loved it. I got the peach glazed Bbq chicken with garlic potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts and I loved everything. The peach glaze was so good. If we're ever back in Savannah, we'll definitely be back to Sweet Potatoes.
We had a fantastic birthday dinner! I ordered the meat with peach grill sauce, while my husband had the Country Fried Boneless Chicken. The famous Banana Pudding, named after him, was simply amazing. Everything was excellent!
This is the kind of place that needs more than 5 stars as an option for rating. Absolutely incredible. Starting with sweet tea and finishing off with dessert, every bite was wonderful. We got the pot roast, fried catfish, and shrimp. Sides that we ordered included mashed sweet potatoes, mashed garlic red potatoes, and Mac n cheese. The pot roast had an excellent flavor and was very tender. The catfish melted in my mouth. I cannot wait to go back!!!
