Don Juan's Sayulita

You can hardly see this place from the Punta de Mia Hiway, but it has excellent food. My daughter builds a Casa nearby and she recommended it for a family meeting. It seems to be a favorite of locals who know. I have eaten there a dozen times and never had a bad meal and the price is much more reasonable than anything you find in downtown Sayulita.

Don Juans has been our favorite since 2010. We enjoy food here at least once a week weather for breakfast, lunch or dinner Don Juans always creates excellent food exactly as we order it. The menu is varied, the kitchen will change ingredients... to personal preferences and the portions are perfect. Prices are so fair for the quality of food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an excellent meal. The view is simple, no sea or spectacular unforgettable ambience, but it is traditional Mexican, clean and decorated very beautiful.

My husband and I went to Don Juan 's tonight and both agreed that the chili en nogada was one of the best bites of anything we 've ever had. We have been in Sayulita for 6 weeks, eating out at least once a day. We 've been...to at least 1/2 of the top 25 restaurants in Sayulita and in terms of an overall experience, this is #1 in my book. We usually go for the street food and super casual dining, but Don Juan 's was something special. I would absolutely call it romantic. There are a lot of great Mexican dishes on the menu as well as some more American style food so there is something for everyone. The prices are SUPER reasonable. We had 2 entreés, one cocktail, one limonade and a banana split and including tip it was less than $40 US. The chicken molé was delicious, but the show stopper was the chili en nogada. We will be coming back as regulars (we 'll be here for at least 8 months).

Access via the backroad from Sayulita. This special restaurant is on the road to Punta Mita and Litibu. It is unpretentious but has good basic food and we always try to go there when nearby

Had a delicious dinner with friends here. Good food and convenient location, just off the main road to Puerto Vallarta.
