(We had previously driven past on many evenings but it must have been on Mondays or Tuesdays and the restaurant was closed. From the moment we walked in yesterday we were welcomed and appreciated as valued customers and treated as friends. I asked if some of the dishes could be made vegan and this was not a problem at all. We were recommended some of the meals and we shared the farinata of the day (pumpkin and rosemary yum! and l chose the linguine alle vongole minus the clams. Also yum! The other dish we had was the gnocci of the day. Washed down with a glass of red and an Italian beer, this was a delicious meal. Both the manager and chef (joint owners? delivered a wonderful dining experience and it was awesome to have time to talk about the wonders of Italy as we had traveled there just a few months ago. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine at its best, served up with genuine hospitality. We will definitely return again and again.
This is the best kept secret in Redcliffe. Absolutely amazing food. The service was exceptional. The wine... OMG.. The $39 chefs special, 5 courses and dessert was fantastic value and was catered to our own tastes.. I can't fault my experience. Definitely going to become a regular of this little gem.
It’s taken us too long to discover La Lanterna. What a great little restaurant! Loved everything about it, we had the Chefs special a very satisfying menu, great flavors and so much food! I wish I could have finished it all. The owner is so passionate about his food and vision for the restaurant such a great addition to Redcliffe’s food scene. All Italian wines it was great not going to my usual but taking the time to read about their origin and try different wines. Oh and I have to add their music play list was so good! we will definitely be back!
We had a fantastic dining experience at La Lanterna! The atmosphere immediately caught our attention, showcasing the charm of the port city of Genoa. The dining room was inviting and cozy, with exceptional service. The food exceeded our expectations - the chef's choice 5 course meal was outstanding, along with the appetizer, Italian wine, and espresso. The authentic Ligurian cuisine was flavorful and delightful. We will definitely be returning to this little piece of heaven regularly.
I recently visited La Lanterna for the third time and had a wonderful experience. They automatically served water upon our arrival, which was a nice touch. The thin focaccia with spring onions appetizer was rustic and delicious. I also enjoyed the fusilli with velvety peas and prawns, which was light and flavorful. The garden salad was a perfect accompaniment. The panna cotta with rich chocolate sauce was light and tasty. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was lively and relaxing. I will definitely be returning for more.
