Blackhorn Steakhouse - Scarborough

Food overpriced. Service slow. 1 1/2 hours before we had our meal. Fish overcooked. 1 out of 5 of us enjoyed their meal. No one seemed to care if we enjoyed our meal or not.

Food is great at the The Blackhorn. I had not been there for a few years, but decided to celebrate there last Friday.The Greek cuisine is delicious with generous servings. I had beef stroganoff 'simply delicious ', I could not eat it all; my buddy had prime rib to die for; dill pickles and garlic bread all around.The decor is typical dark wood steakhouse.George and Helen are very welcoming making you feel like part of the family.I recommend you try Blackhorn, the food will not disappoint you. Last evening we were invited here to celebrate my sisters birthday.....from the moment i walked in .i knew this was an establishment with a reputation ,the cozy ambiance,,,,the welcoming staff.....i was impressed......the server was first rate....attentive....informative and efficient....the owner was always around watching diners progress,,,,,,it is evident they care deeply about the customer experience......the fare was amazingly perfect......i felt it was old world style....you could see and taste the passion and love that went into those recipes.....wow......this is truly a gem of a place to dine.....they are doing everything correct and it shows !!! well done to the BLACKHORN ,i am truly truly impressed with you.....i will highly recommend this wonderful dining room !!!!! loved the entire evening.......your attention to detail and class and elegance, left me so satisfied .again,,,,,WELL DONE......amazing experience....and thank you to you all!

Wholesome well cooked food. Staff very attentive. Decor is old-fashioned and dark but clean. Good food at a very reasonable price.

The decor is frozen in time, several decades ago and the service was verging on surly. However, we enjoyed the food here and would return for the quality and value. A word of warning; the servings are large. We had an order of garlic bread and bruschetta, shared one appetizer and had two mains. It was more food than we needed as we did not know that the mains come with soup or salad, Next time, we would skip the appetizer. We had a coupon that we found on line for a free appetizer under $9.95 which essentially means you get the specialty breads as there are no others that fit within this price category. It was clear that the waitress did not want us to use this coupon - make sure to print it and take it with you as they insist on collecting it. I had ribs and my husband had filet mignon. Both were very well executed and served with nice sides of roast potato and veggies.
