Great food, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. It's a small and clean restaurant, and the owners were very friendly towards us. Definitely recommend it if you're in the neighborhood.
Food is great. Like mom makes. I've been to other Hungarian restaurants and the food wasn't as good as this. Menu is not expansive which is their strength. They are authentic and they keep it simple and do it well. I've been to Hungarian restaurants that wanted it to be considered "fine dining" by putting anything and everything on the menu and putting "fine dining" prices on the meals. Don't mind paying for it, but they all sucked. Gourmet Schnitzel House gives good old fashioned Hungarian food at a very affordable price. Highly recommended.
This is a no frill restaurant, at first glance you may not want to enter. The food is amazing, the husband and wife team do an amazing job of making you feel at home. From service to the food, you feel at home. The schnitzel is always perfectly cooked, the sides are all home made too. The price is reasonable, it won't break the bank. The "hunters" or the chicken schnitzel are my favorites.
We have dined at this restaurant many times over the last five years. Although the menu is limited, the food is tasty and the portions plentiful. Our favourite dish is the Hunter Schnitzel served with the potatoes or spatzle (little dumplings). The restaurant is very small, but cozy. The desserts look good however we always seem to be too full to enjoy them. This reasonably priced restaurant is highly recommended.
