We walked to the Inn from Raven Hall hotel via the Cleveland Way, a distance of about 4 1/2 miles. It was the perfect spot to have lunch before the 4 1/2 mile walk back to Raven Hall. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, making the outdoor dining area a great option. The Black Sheep Ale was refreshing after a challenging walk in the hot sun, and the food was delicious. While not the most affordable option, it was a friendly and relaxing place to enjoy a meal, drink, and unwind after a hike. The Inn is conveniently located near a stunning waterfall and rocky beach, which are popular spots for visitors before heading to the Inn for food and drinks while taking in the views.
Just like always, our experience was wonderful. We visited for dinner on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Despite it being quite busy both nights, we were served promptly and the food was absolutely delicious. This charming, cozy, and welcoming traditional pub is located in a fantastic spot. It's also wonderfully accommodating to dogs, with the resident pub dog always looking out for the comfort of his furry guests.
After grabbing a couple of beers during the day, we strolled down to the waterfall. Upon returning, we had dinner at the restaurant, ordering one regular and one gluten-free burger. Both were delicious, and the cider we ordered was excellent. Prices were reasonable as well. Would definitely return in the future.
We had done a walk along the coast and passed through this place on our way back to the car. It looked great and was busy so decided to drive back to have Sunday lunch. There is plenty of room outside and easily found a...table. Order for food and drink was done quickly at the bar and the carvery was just round the corner. We both felt the carvery was poor the meat had been pre-sliced and not carved for you and it was nearly all cold. We had to go back to get someone to microwave it for us and someone else was doing the same. If you’ve served Sunday lunches for as long as they must have done you would have thought they could serve it hot. With so many other pubs in the area we won’t be going back on future walks.
