Then they decided to cash in on Indian food by opening the top of the restaurant as Indian food and leaving the downstairs as the original Chinese food. This is Chinese owned and trying to cash in on Indian and Thai may I add. Stick to your own food. Avoid
Visited after the Saba had been recommended in the Hotel guide book. The place does not sell alcohol so we started with cokes which were not fizzy. The shared veggie starter was ok. My main of a special massala was more like a korma with very little meat in it. Then my wife who is vegetarian ordered a Paneer Jalfrezi and was then served a CHICKEN Jalfrezi (good spot by me , Paneer usually comes in cubes and not slices) . They took the chicken dish away and replaced with a paneer one which was very oily. Cleanliness was poor, with cobwebs under our table and around the window. They took the price of the Paneer dish off the bill but seeing as it was 2 for 1 mains Tuesday anyway it wasn't really an apology . All in all probably worst Indian meal we've ever had.
I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant and I must say, it was fantastic! We enjoyed Thai fishcakes, chicken jalfreizi, and saba special masala. The sauces were delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning soon.
We made a reservation for a table of 8 (7 adults and 1 child). When we arrived at the restaurant, they were not prepared for a table of our size and had to quickly set one up. We were informed upon arrival that Thai food was not available on the menu and there were no alcoholic beverages. It would have been helpful to know this before coming as many of us were looking forward to Thai cuisine. We were served poppadoms quickly, but it took around 20 minutes for them to take our food order. The 3 starters we ordered arrived promptly. The onion bhajis looked appetizing, but the prawn pakora consisted of only 4 small battered prawns on a large plate with a small amount of sauce and salad. The main dishes took around 40 minutes to arrive, despite requesting the child's food to come first. Interestingly, two other tables of two who arrived after us received their food before us, which was disappointing. The curries arrived before the rice dishes, causing the curries to cool while waiting for the rice to be served 5-10 minutes later. We do not plan to dine in at this restaurant again as our experience was not satisfactory. We appreciate the polite and apologetic staff, but it was clear that they were not prepared for our reservation despite us booking in advance. Overall, the main dishes were decent, but we will be sticking to takeout from Saba in the future.
Food from start to finish was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. 5 stars if we lived closer we would order from here every week. Service was amazing.
