We were able to tuck our dogs under the table in our booth and enjoy a delicious meal of cod, chips, and peas cooked in old fashioned beef dripping. It was a perfect 10/10 experience.
We stopped by this restaurant during a day trip, mainly because they advertised themselves as dog-friendly. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and the staff were extremely welcoming. The menu was fantastic and the food we received was fresh and of high quality. I would definitely recommend it!
We came across Terry's while searching for a dog-friendly restaurant in Whitby, and I was excited to try some fish and chips. I must say, I was very pleased with our meal. I ordered the haddock and chips, which was excellent. The haddock was tender with a delicious batter and the chips were perfect. For dessert, I had apple crumble and ice cream, which was also very tasty. My wife had a chip butty, which was huge, our son had a battered sausage with calamari on the side, and his girlfriend had lasagne. Everyone reported that their dishes were full of flavor. The atmosphere was great with some relaxing music playing, and a nice touch was a film showing Whitby during the summer and all the town has to offer on the TV screen. The service was friendly but not overly attentive, and although the bill came to £25 per person, including drinks, desserts, and sides, it was worth it because the food was so delicious. I would definitely recommend Terry's and would certainly visit again.
We lived in whitby 17 years and the worst fish and chips have ever had. Will never go again. Very expensive as well for what you get bones in the fish chips tested like they’ve been there a week like they’ve been cooked for a week
We came in for fish chips on a Saturday night, the actual fish was lovely but everything else was barely mediocre. The music was far too loud when we asked for it turned down they did, but barely 20 minutes later it was turned back up. It didn’t help that the music choice was dreadful. The waitresses all looked about 12 year old had about as much personality as a wet fish. Extremely expensive for a sea side chippy; £3.50 for a can of pop is daylight robbery and £12.50 for jumbo sausage chips served on what can only be described as a tea plate is downright theft. Toilets left a lot to be desired. AVOID!
