Franklin House is a MUST VISIT if anywhere near! This place was built in 1746 and is just an absolutely amazing historic tavern. The decor is beautiful and you feel like you're are stepping back in time as you enter. A neat tavern area and two fancy looking dining rooms make this a great place to eat or drink. The foot long chili dog (Franken Dog) is the best chili dog I have ever eaten. Fantastic overall menu, and the dinner entrees listed sound super delicious! Can't wait to go back!
Visited on 2/22/2022 11:30 AM. Faster food service (took an hour to get lunch entrees) would be nice, less salt in food, salads were obviously pre-prepared refrigerated, no bread (bread delivery not till 1 PM per server). Also been dealing with gastro issues since our visit.???
We stopped for lunch after a 6 year hiatus. Under new ownership, newly redecorated, looks nice. However, took way to look to receive our meals. Should not have to wait nearly an our, especially considering we were the first there for lunch. Server was nice, food was good, but we likely will not return.
This place has amazing history. I will certainly go back to experience more of the history. I enjoyed just a small taste of what it has to offer. I also had a great tavern burger which was delicious.
