Applebee's - Schenectady

The restaurant offers ample comfortable seating, along with friendly and efficient service, and the food is truly delicious. There's also a bar and large-screen TVs for sports enthusiasts to enjoy. I had the flaky salmon, which paired perfectly with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My brother ordered the shrimp and chicken, which was served to him sizzling hot and was quickly devoured.

The staff were openly criticizing our waitress to other tables, as well as to us, and they continued to do so after she had walked away. The food was decent, but that level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I won’t be returning.

We placed an order through GrubHub and ended up receiving the wrong items, which was entirely the fault of the delivery person. When we checked our order, I found a long hair mixed in with the waffle fries. I tried to convince myself it could have been my hair and attempted to remove it, but I quickly realized it was FRIED into the fries. This experience completely turned me off from Applebee's. I couldn't bring myself to eat anything from my $60+ order.

It started off on a high note; the appetizer was delightful and the chicken wings were cooked to perfection. However, the burger was quite disappointing. I ordered a mushroom burger that had only three thin slices of mushrooms and an excessive amount of onions. I had to ask for additional mushrooms just to make it a proper mushroom burger. The burger itself lacked flavor and was very dry, as it was missing the mayo that was supposed to accompany it according to the menu. By that point, I was too disappointed to voice my concerns any further. We opted for water to drink, but getting refills was a challenge. I started with two glasses and needed a third, but I had to wait quite a while for the second one. I went nearly 20 minutes without a drink because it seemed like water was in short supply. This location truly seems to be hit or miss; we've had some wonderful experiences in the past, but also some that were quite underwhelming. Tonight's experience was a mix of both—half of it was enjoyable, and half of it was lacking. That said, if you're in the area and curious to try it, I recommend giving it a shot. Your experience could turn out differently than mine, hopefully for the better. Thank you for reading!
