Immediately upon entering the restaurant does not look very attractive, but as you go on, it is. The food is good and the service friendly. We ordered one of the flame cakes, which is highly recommended. A word of caution: Although there is a Maestro sign at the door, obviously not all foreign Maestro cards are accepted. So take cash.
Visit small calds outside the season, and we were happy to find a nice place to eat. it was popular and crowded, but they pushed us in and gave us a beer and a burger from the sky. everyone talked to everyone and we felt at home. the prices were affordable.
I had very high expectations, because this place was recommended to me a few times before I left. I ordered the classic Maykel Burger with frits and a small beer. It was a hot day and it was just perfect to eat outside and have... a fantastic burger, the bungalow was crispy and the meat boiled right, plus they use a burger sauce made in-house that is excellent. Super recommend.
We came here for dinner, we were quite happy to find a place that looked good that was open as it was a holiday it was mostly fast food places and small cafes that where open. The restaurant has a pretty good, most typical things...you get at most German cafe/restaurants, soup, salad, crepes, sandwiches, pasta, tarte flambee, steaks, schnitzel and desserts. The prices were good for the quality of the food. The service was quick and friendly. We both had to start a soup called Soljanka, which is a typical dish from the GDR times with a tomato-vegetable broth with different vegetables and sausage pieces and served with a roll on the side. We both liked it very much. I also had the spicy tarte flambee and my husband the hamburger without a side dish. We both liked our main dishes though I would have liked the middle to be crispier of the tarte flambee. For desert, my husband had a chili-hot chocolate, the flavour was good but it wasn't so spicy.
