Oakridge Smokehouse - Schulenburg

Located on Highway 77 in LeGrange, the Oakridge Smokehouse restaurant has been a favorite of ours for the past twenty years. We usually enjoy their sausages or purchase items from their shop to take home. However, on our recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised when the host immediately seated us without giving us the option to visit the buffet line. Our waitress was quick and efficient, taking our order and promptly bringing water and coffee to our table. We decided on the chicken noodle soup and a fried pork steak with two sides from the main menu. The steak was delicious and came with a large baked potato, all at a price of under $20. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Oakridge Smokehouse and will definitely be returning.

We found this place on the way to our granddaughter softball game. What a jewel! Home Cooked Food Buffet Style, All-you-can-eat, at a reasonable price! We will definitely stop here again.

This restaurant is fantastic - we make sure to stop here every time we drive to Rockport. They have the freshest ingredients and their chocolate chip cookies are not only delicious, but also huge.

I have been dining at this restaurant regularly for the past 15 years, traveling between Houston and San Antonio and stopping in on many different occasions. The wait staff has remained consistently friendly over the years. I have never opted to order off the menu, as I highly recommend the buffet for those who enjoy home-style cooking. The buffet typically offers a variety of dishes such as chicken noodle soup, fried chicken, ribs, sausage, roast beef, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, assorted vegetables, and goulashes. The menu may vary daily, but the food is cooked in a Czech/German style that I personally love. Occasionally, I have strayed from the buffet to steal a few bites of my kids' chicken strips and french fries. I suggest giving it a try.

The buffet was great! Fries Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Beef, Sausage with amazing sides to name some! The menu items were just as delicious as the chicken steak and the amazing dumplings!
