Benihana - Scottsdale

Fried Rice came from RA instead of Benihana and was very different than the Benihana HIBACHI CHICKEN RICE (Serves 2) Definitely not what you get when you actually go to Benihana and order their HIBACHI CHICKEN RICE (Serves 2)

The Hibachi steak rice is delicious. I wouldn't say it serves two people, as it is a large portion and could use more vegetables.

The rolls at this restaurant did not meet the same quality standards as before. The shrimp crunchy rolls lacked crunchiness and both the shrimp rolls and California rolls were soggy and appeared to be wet. It was not a pleasant experience.

I typically don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for this one. I visited Benihana for lunch and was disappointed with the small portions. I received only 4 small slices of beef and 5 tiny scallops, mostly rice. I usually order from Benihana and am usually satisfied, but this time was an exception. If portion sizes continue to be this small, I may have to find somewhere else to dine where I feel like I am getting my money's worth. It's unfortunate because my family and I have always enjoyed Benihana in the past.

The kitchen is inconsistent, especially for a national chain with DECADES experience. I ordered the Hibachi Shrimp Rice Hibachi Chicken Rice one day it was as good as I remember the first time I had it over 45 years ago at the Benihana flagship location in San Francisco. However, just the day later, my second order of the same items was disappointing. Each contained 50% of the protein there was very little grilling of the dish. It tasted just like it was from some random corner Chinese place. Never again certainly not at these prices. Get it together, Benihana. You are embarrassing Rocky!
