Another Macayo's, another great meal. Start with a basket of their thin corn chips and salsa (it is at the hotter side of mild) and add your favorite Margarita, mine was the Cadillac with the shots on the side. Then a order of the green tamale bites. The main plate hand dipped Chile Relleno that comes with beans and rice.
I haven't been to Macayos for a while, and to be honest, the last time the food tasted to commercialized. This time was not the case, it's like a chef of old traditions blessed our meal with love and tasty happiness.. it was tender.. juicey ... the aroma was intoxicating... we were secretly eating before we even seen our plates.. then the mixologist Gabby was a Magician sent from the Gods.. amazing experience!!
The atmosphere in this place was electric. The Manager Mike I believe his name was, was interacting with all of the guest and making sure they were happy with their food or if they needed anything else. We're from Seattle and the same food we order back home was prepared differently here. Even though we thought it was wrong it still tasted good. Mike made his way to our table, greeted us and asked us how everything tasted and as we explained he listened, and then he explained how they make the same dishes here in Arizona. Gave us a better understanding. All in all it was a good late night experience. Thanks Mike, from the people from Seattle!
Did a quick carryout from Macayo's while staying at the adjacent hotel. The mini chimichangas were delicious we tried both the chicken and the steak. The enchilada dulces dessert was quite good but would certainly have had more panache if we'd been dining in. This opportunistic meal left us very well satisfied. (since it was carryout I can't really rate service or atmosphere, but the gentleman who got me my order was quite friendly).
