The food is delicious, and while the restaurant is small, the ambience is usually great. Bob Montague is cooking owner, he is one of the nicest people, and the best chefs, in the city. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience, Jasper, and hope you will give Cafe Sparrow another chance. It's a great local restaurant, and we need all the good restaurants we can reach here – it's not San Francisco.
We had a great meal at Cafe Sparrow to celebrate the day of the father when we were interrupted, I think the owner who asked if we could keep our 13 months old quiet. We were shocked, especially because we are not no novices when we take our child to dinner, which is quite often. What do we have to do? My husband joked if they had some canal band in the back or a snuck, because our daughter was sitting at the table and babble normal happy baby. It was close to the end of our meal and our little sat at the table for an hour, but was still as happy as possible. I know the tables are quite close to each other and I am more than to understand when she cried in the restaurant and wept, but she wasn't. We were never treated so rudely and shocked. My husband actually asked if she was “they” not our waitress and don’t imagine we only take on, she was an owner) was joke because he thought she was coming over to be friendly and compliment us how well kept our child sitting at the table after an hour. Our whole table of six adults wanted to go away. My stepfather said he would never eat there again. My aunt and uncle felt the same way. I don't think I'll ever go back there, no matter how good the food was.
