Latona Pub - Seattle

We've been regulars at the Latona Pub for over 15 years, and I've always ordered their macaroni and cheese because it was undeniably the best in Seattle. (I've tried countless versions at various restaurants around the city.) It featured penne pasta, a rich and creamy sauce, and a perfectly broiled crispy top. However, after not visiting for a year or two, we returned just last week and were disappointed to find that they had completely changed the mac and cheese recipe. It's a pale imitation of what it used to be. Now, it has shell pasta, lacks flavor, and resembles any other mac and cheese you might find at a BBQ place or elsewhere. I sincerely hope they bring back the original version with the penne noodles! I still love Latona and highly recommend it, but you might want to skip the mac and cheese.

Even though I no longer live nearby, I make the effort to visit as often as I can for what I believe to be the best burger in Seattle, alongside an impressively varied tap list and a delightful atmosphere. While some things have changed over the years, the food, beer, local music, and welcoming environment remain outstanding. Every item on the menu is delicious, but the burger is my favorite. I also appreciate that it comes with a salad topped with an amazing vinaigrette instead of fries. The duck confit salad is another standout dish. The cocktails are worth mentioning, too, and I love sitting at the bar and chatting with the other friendly patrons of this beloved establishment. I miss the previous chefs who felt like family, as well as the lively interactions in the cozy kitchen. The secret upstairs seating and the newer limited outdoor options are also a treat! Yum!

The food here is incredible! You absolutely have to try the smashed potatoes with cheese. The crunch wrap is also fantastic.

Met up with an old friend for drinks and a bite. Food was amazing Staff was kind and accommodating My only regret was not staying for trivia. Worth stopping and enjoying some time here
