Most authentic banh mi I’ve had in Seattle outside of Saigon. Need to try their coffee soon, I keep neglecting to :
Crackly fresh baguette, bright green cilantro like it was just plucked from the garden, just the right amount of jalapeño, mouthwatering Vietnamese ham and pate came together on a generously sized, reasonably priced classic banh mi that I would drive out of my way to eat again.
Ate here a couple of times. Bahn mi is okay but not special. The owner is more Chinese than Vietnamese. The last time I went, I was the only one there. I asked a worker a question about Vietnam. The owner interrupted her answer, said they were busy and wanted to know if I intended to order anything. I walked out and haven’t been back. I never ran into such rudeness in Vietnam, or West Seattle for that matter. There’s no reason to support such businesses.
I've had a few sandwiches from here and this review is a combination of multiple experiences. In the past, the balance of ingredients have been perfect, but today the original bánh mì that I ordered was made with far too much pâté which overpowered the entire sandwich. Normally a 5 out of 5 but today a 1 out of 5 which is why I'm averaging the two.
