This is a little hole-in-the-wall pub that we went to because we were in the area, and I had read an article listing them as the best fish and chips in Seattle. Their fish and chips were very, very good, and the tartar sauce that went with it was some of the best I've had. We will return the next time we're nearby.
Wish we got to try this place— my brother is in town visiting and asked to go. We decided to go to celebrate me passing my last grad school exam. When we walked in, the person behind the bar was unnecessarily rude to us. We had a hard time hearing him with the noise level and kindly asked him to repeat/clarify himself. He appeared annoyed at the request and responded demeaningly, dragging out his words and sentences slowly in an exaggerated way as if we were too dumb to understand the first time. We left immediately, a little shocked by the incident. We were just trying to eat some fish and chips, man ?
Fish and chips weren't bad. Immediately when we came in one of the bartenders was a bit rude and condescending, not sure if thats just pub/bar culture though as I dont usually frequent bars. By the end of the night he was a bit more friendly as I guess he realized we weren't any sort of threat and we helped to clean up our table before leaving. Fries were very good, fish itself was average, not bad at all but nothing life changing or that I would be craving for specifically at this place again. It did make me feel a bit quesy afterwards though. Overall, probably wouldn't come again as I'm not an aggressive person and maybe just am not cut out for the bar scene lol but the food wasn't too bad
This place is an awesome dive bar, real cheap drinks! It brands itself as Seattle's best fish and chips spot so I went and got there fish and chips and it was good! Nothing too astounding but it wasn't bad for the fun dive bar vibes and chill environment you receive. I'd go back again if it was closer to where I live!
