The Ballard Cut - Seattle

What a wonderful surprise! This was my first visit and with the mini explosion of upscale restaurants on Ballard Avenue, I wasn't sure what to expect. I've had hit and miss experiences. From the moment we entered the door, we locked eyes with so many smiling and laughing staff, we couldn't help but grin back, and were instantly laughing and engaged ourselves. Our waitress was gracious with the perfect touch of irreverence. The Amaro Manhattan was stellar. We started with the Crispy Pork Belly with kimchi and an edamame wasabi sauce (oh, mouth watering yeah! . The Autum Chicory Salad was full of sweet, creamy, nutty, green crunchy goodness shockingly delicious! The portions were so generous we decided to share an entrée. The Tomahawk Pork Chop was cooked to medium rare juiciness and was so flavorful! The fennel crust, charred just right, and the bed of creamy polenta paired perfectly with the light touch of pickled apple and friseé. I confess I gnawed the bone. I hope nobody saw. We were celebrating a birthday, and savored the goat cheese cheesecake that was a masterful concoction of fluffy, creamy, tangy and sweet. The Ballard Cut is definitely a cut above the Avenue pack!

If I could give 6 stars for service I would, the food is always good, the curry clams have always been my favorite but the service is what keeps me coming back. When I go out in the city this is the experience I expect. Excellent date night dinner out on the town.

The food, cocktails, and service at this restaurant were all excellent. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable. We chose to sit at the bar and received fantastic recommendations from the bartender. Overall, it could not have been any better.

This is our Go To restaurant bar in Ballard. The bartenders are always so friendly and make a great drink. Their Bourbon collection is outstanding and the knowledge behind it is even more amazing. The food has always been fantantic get the clams!!!
