As someone from the island, I expected more authentic flavors, but as soon as I walked in and saw the kitchen staff, I had my doubts. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I suspect that the numerous five-star reviews are from those who may not be familiar with true Jamaican cuisine, as my partner and I were the only people of color in the place. If you’re looking for genuine Jamaican food, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I felt like I wasted $70 on our meal. I ordered the snapper with rice and beans, while my partner had the curry shrimp, and both dishes lacked seasoning. The rice was overcooked and too mushy—almost like mashed potatoes! Save your time and money and check out Vic's Italian Pizza in the next shopping plaza instead. It's run by real Italians serving authentic Italian food. I do not recommend this place, and we won’t be returning.
Where do I even start? The rice and beans were overcooked and mushy, and the shrimp curry was incredibly bland. I expected flavorful curry, but it had no taste at all, and the shrimp wasn’t seasoned either. I found myself constantly adding salt and pepper just to make it edible. This place does not serve authentic Jamaican cuisine. My husband and I are very disappointed and won't be coming back. It's clear that either the reviews are misleading or the writers don't truly understand what real Jamaican food is. We spent over $80 here, and we've had better meals at other places for far less, leaving those restaurants excited for our next visit. Don’t be deceived by the presentation!
This place was fantastic! The food was incredible, and I've tried quite a bit of Caribbean cuisine! There was also live music, and the performer even came to sing at our table. We will definitely return!
Chef Wesley Campbell has done the impossible created a truly gourmet menu in Sebastian, FL. Outstanding, creative food and the first decent cocktails I've had in this little fishing town. Ask for the coconut pie; it's not always on the menu.
Three of us went for the first time and started off with Pina Coladas which were frozen and really good. We had jerk pork ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes, seafood paella which had muscles, shrimp, Spanish rice with another fish, and grilled salmon with mashed sweet potatoes as a selected side dish. Everyone agreed that everything was cooked perfectly. The salmon, which I had was soft and tender. The glaze was delicious. All large portions. For dessert, we had banana rum cheesecake...to die for! The owner and chef came out and introduced himself and really cared if we enjoyed the food. And we did! We will surely return. Update: went there again after a month and it was still great. I got the stuffed jerk chicken stuffed with spinach and mushrooms and again, perfectly cooked and delicious!
