The hubby and I are full-time Sebring residents, originally from Chicago, and were thrilled to try the Chicago Hot Dogs and Italian Beef Sandwich. We grew up and eat Chicago Dawgs and Italian beef around Chi-town and Northwest Indiana so are familiar with the dressings and taste. BIG STAR DOGS was not disappointed with the presentation and the food itself. The Chicago dogs and the Italian beef sandwich were spot-on-Chicago style and not disappointed with the taste. The frits were thin, crispy and slightly salted. Everything was perfect! We cannot wait until our second visit, if I will try the Italian beef, and I have no doubt that the Hubby will have the same. Then comes the Polish sausage sandwich, a chili dog, another Italian beef.... Check out the menu and give the place a try. You will not be disappointed!
Gereist 2 plus hours to try this place and it was worth it. I had the Chicago style dog with sweet potato sauces. All right! It is a must try space! Great food and great family!
I couldn't believe this was real, a real hot dog joint, like any neighborhood and suburb of Chicago, so I had to see if it was in the true spirit and taste of my hometown. Got the Italian beef and fries and was skeptical. There is no TRUE Italian beef sandwich outside the Chicagoland area. I found one. The sandwich (and they know to ask if it was wet or not huge) was practically in place. And the hidden surprise was the Fritten! Big Star Dogs had a great debut with me, and I'm back.
Your Chicago dogs are one of the best I ever had! The Italian beef sandwich is also a good choice. I highly recommend
Excellent eatery. Took 3 other friends there yesterday and they are still raving about it today! Nice atmosphere and lots of famous folks’ pictures on the wall along with owner, Lazaro. Food portions are very good. I enjoyed the hot dog with sauerkraut..yum! The fries were a big hit too...done just right.
