My husband has also eaten here multiple times for work and has had the same positive experience. It is refreshing to see the owners take such pride and put in hard work in a small town where most restaurants are just average. I highly recommend this place. The only downside was that we had to wait longer than usual for our meal, possibly because we were a large group. The decor is interesting, with a door theme - the tables are doors and there are doors along the walls. Very unique and quirky!
I recently tried a grilled ham and cheese sandwich at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. I have never had a better grilled cheese sandwich than the one I had here. The restaurant is definitely worth the trip to Sedgewick. Keep up the great work!
If you are traveling along Highway 13 in East Central Alberta and looking for a place to stop for lunch or a tea/coffee and homemade snack, be sure to visit The Wooden Spoon in Sedgewick. They offer daily specials, delicious homemade soups, generous sandwiches, and a selection of pastries such as cupcakes, muffins, cowboy cookies, tarts, cream-filled strawberry croissants, and more. I enjoyed a chicken salad wrap loaded with fresh vegetables and the Hot Soup. My partner tried the special: a heart-shaped hamburger with a side Caesar salad and a fantastic chocolate cupcake for dessert. It was all so delicious that we ended up getting two more cupcakes and a cream cheese chocolate muffin to take with us. The owners have creatively used wooden doors painted in vibrant colors as tables and decor, giving the place a unique, cozy atmosphere. With reasonable prices and a friendly welcome, The Wooden Spoon is a must-visit spot.
I stopped at this restaurant for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and it is literally "to die for" I have never tasted a grilled cheese sandwich as good as this was, this restaurant is worth the drive to Sedgewick. Way to go!!!, the best ever, I can't say enough to good about this, keep up the good work.
The food does not taste like it came out of a freezer or can. It is fresh and enjoyable. I ate here once with my family and we overall enjoyed it. My husband has also ate here many times for work and has said the same thing. It is nice to see such pride and hard work taken by the owners in a small town where the norm for restaurants is average at best. I would definitely recommend. Only problem was we waited longer than average for our meal, but perhaps because we were such a large group. Also the decor is interesting... a door theme perhaps? (the table is a door and doors are all along the wall). Unique!
