Restaurant Rutlihaus - Seelisberg

Had a really nice lunch here. Sat in the open air overlooking the lake. Big parties can reserve space in advance. Hike or take a boat here. Easy to find.

Starting The Swiss Path at Rütli, the compulsory kick-off with a coffee and a snack cannot possibly be anywhere else but the Rütlihaus on the Rütliwiese. Very interesting pictures and other artifacts. Pleasant service. Very clean. Recommended.

My husband and I (Swiss) decided to take our children to Rütli to show them this historical place. Beautiful weather, so we decided to have lunch there when we saw there was a restaurant. What terrible welcome we had. A young waitress first ignored us, then my husband (a very smiling person) tried to ask her if it would be possible to eat something and she said no in such a way that my husband thought she was joking!. When he insisted she told him in a very cold way they were busy. So we left. We are Swiss and ashamed of this experience!

I have been on the Rütli before and have always been impressed by the mystic place with a wonderful lake and mountain view. From the Swiss press I learned, that since this season the restaurant is run by a new crew which has a good reputation for a modern and local kitchen. That was a good reason for me to go back last weekend and it was absolutely worth it.I had fish with fresh salad, which was perfectly prepared. Each sort of salad was freshly made and came with it's own fitting dressing. The service personal was friendly and fast.I will definitely go back to Rütli soon!
