Yes if karaoke was definitely on,as I like a sing John
Drinks were cheap, close to hotel and shops. Young bar staffs friendly. We had older children with us aged twelve and ten on a Saturday teatime. Grumpy lady (bar staff) ask us to move and although there was no problem with that, it was the manner she said it. Lively pub with loud music. After buying some drinks grumpy lady told us we couldn’t stay past 7.30pm because of the kids. There was no notice of this, or nothing was mentioned when we bought the drinks a few minutes before. We were sat next to the bar. Felt it was a bar for the locals and children weren’t welcome. Would not return even without the kids.
Leo's Bar is a very traditional Bar but looks a bit rough from the outside (the overall building compared to other establishments). No Karaoke when I visited. The Stella should've been served in a Stella glass (just what I am used to). The outdoor could be dramatically improved with some potted plants and painted tables and decking. Ordering was straight forward and the staff inviting. Although it may be considered a bit tatty always good to support local businesses.
Pub and bar hopping around Southport my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into Leo's Bar and what a really good time we had. This bar is only small, nice decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside, a very cool bar indeed. We were here on a Friday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a cider each ,we chose a fruit cider and these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My cider was really good, a crisp, dark fruit cider served absolutely freezing cold ,it certainly cut through the thirst, it was just what we needed on such a warm day. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting we had a superb time. Leo's Bar is easy to locate along Neville Street. A great bar,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.
We stopped in for a drink after checking into our hotel nearby and were disappointed with the limited beer options and unfriendly staff. The place was also run-down. We found better restaurants in Southport and did not return.
