The Black Dog Inn - Selby

We met up with frriends as it was half way between where they lived and where we lived. It was a superb choice of venue ! The welcome, the food both the amount and the taste and the customer service were all outstanding even our springer spaniel was treated to a bowl of turkey. One of our group was gluten free and again, her choice of options and the sweet and sour chicken that was chosen and served, was delicious. The joy of the whole experience though was the wonderful service everyone was just lovely. A wonderful place to visit.

My friend and I went to the Black Dog today for lunch. Our first visit,, but was attracted by the variety of gluten free meals. We were not disappointed. My friend had GF homemade fish and chips,, followed by GF homemade cheesecake with ice cream . I had braised steak,, mash and seasonal veg followed by creme brule. The food was faultless,, service attentive and professional. Lovely ambience in a warm friendly restaurant. Highly recommend

What a fabulous visit today Excellent Sunday Roast, also offering a smaller portion, accompanied with beautiful cooked veg served separately, and gravy. Scummy desserts. Excellent waiting on staff . All overseen by friendly mine hosts. Will be back.

We had an amazing experience at the Black Dog for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday. The staff were very accommodating and had no issue with us bringing in her birthday cake. They even stored it in the kitchen for us. Everyone working there was friendly and the food was excellent. There was a wide selection of meats for Sunday lunch, all of which were of a very high quality. We are thrilled to have found this fantastic restaurant and are excited to return in the future.

I went to this restaurant tonight with my parents and we had a great experience. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the pie, fish and chips, and the chocolate orange melt for dessert. We will definitely be returning. I had heard that the prices were a bit high, but in our opinion, it was worth every penny.
