Blue Bonnet Palace - Selma

Don't expect authentic BBQ here, but it is a fun place for entertainment. The brisket was cut into slices over an inch thick and served in large blocks, which was a bit strange. They presented the food in paper boats, similar to what you would use for French fries. Unfortunately, everything, including the sides, was lukewarm at best. It's a shame because there was definitely potential. The brisket was incredibly tender, the German sausage had a nice coarse texture, and the sauce was among the best I've tasted. Our server, Jewel, was attentive but not overbearing, and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. If management could address a few key details, it could greatly enhance the overall experience.

This is the toughest three-star rating I've ever had to give because I genuinely want to give this place five stars. Overall, it’s FANTASTIC—perfect for dancing, hanging out with friends, or meeting new people, and they serve great drinks. However, there is a concerning issue. While I was near the outdoor bar next to the food area, I suddenly spotted a large rat scurrying toward the restaurant and kitchen area. I can only hope that it didn’t make it inside the kitchen, but how can one be certain? This venue is doing an amazing job overall, but seeing rats running around and heading toward the kitchen is definitely alarming. I really hope this situation gets resolved, as it's still a great spot to come and dance. However, I’m uncertain if I would feel comfortable eating here again.

We had never visited Blue Bonnet until last weekend, but I definitely plan to return! We went for dinner at the barbecue restaurant, and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly, and the service was top-notch. The venue is beautiful, and we enjoyed watching three different groups perform for the concert—it was such a fun experience! Although we didn't spend much time inside, everyone seemed to be having a wonderful evening. Our main focus was the concerts, and I highly recommend checking this place out!

I'm updating my review... I guess it got flagged by the venue and removed. So I really hope you the yelper they the venue enjoy the updated version Out of all the music venues in the area this is the MOST LIKELY TO CANCEL CONCERTS WITH 24-48 hours notice... I'm not sure if this is a new management style or marketing tactic but I'm not a fan. When I brought this up in a comment on FB in response to an yet another canceled concert they felt the need to block me from commenting or liking their post. As a someone who attends concerts and is from this area it was hard to plan for outings with friend and a hour plus commute then to have cancel not once not twice and even more than that. So if your looking ... you get what you pay for .. it's a bar. That may or may not have a concert after all.

The service is great. Food is wonderful. But, I'm soooo disappointed that they no longer have chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans! Bad move! That's the only thing I order here, so.......
