Old Mill Restaurant - Selwyn

7 of us went to dinner tonight at the old mill not that we got to eat. We had to ask for menus after sitting on the patio for 15 minutes with no one coming out to look after us. When they finally did come we ordered drinks and after another 10 minutes they brought out 2 pops and we never saw them again. We were there for 45 minutes and only had 2 pops to show for it. I personally worked at the old mill for years and it used to be the place to go. What a shame it is to see what it has become. We will never be back which is terrible because I have so many fond memories there.

Ventured up to Youngs Point from TO with friends. By the time we got there we were looking for a quiet place for lunch along the water. It's tucked away within a "resort" location with trailers/campers almost felt like we were intruding on the property but glad we did! New owners for less than a week. Food was awesome and plenty! Very reasonable prices. Service was attentive. View was lovely! Best to eat on the patio overlooking the water as the inside needs some updating and tlc. Hope the new owners can invest in that ;). Good food and beers with a terrific location. Almost dockside on the lake. If weather is good the outdoor dining is awesome!

The restaurant has been under new management since 2015 with a new menu and staff. It is only open on weekends from May to September.

Under staffed, no bus-person to seat folks coming in, (actually announced by waitress to us) and desperately in need of some investment. Food was mediocre to poor. Burger was tasty but fries were a burnt collection of crunchy left-overs from bottom of fryer. Service was pleasant but slow due to severely under-staffed and admitted that they would not have the LLBO licence until next year. Shame, really could it not have been planned better? At least get some servers so you create a better impression so people will come back when you have your licence. Succeed to fail..etc...
