The owner told me had heart operation and strokes, so he spent 3 years building a massive selection of healthy Vegan Mexican options...they culture their own vegan cheese, and make amazing plant based meats! We ate there almost every day. Try the vegan ham and vegan carne asada...omg. Baby asparagus with vegan feta tacos are amazeballs. Vegan sour cream, vegan cheese, vegan steaks...and they make anything gluten free, even burritos! And I can take my omnivore friends and family there and everyone is amazed.
I ate the eggplant tacos. it was ok but nothing extraordinary. for dessert I had vegan churros. I didn't like it at all, my partner thought it was ok
They have quite a few vegetarian and vegan options on the menu which is good. The grilled eggplant tacos were just ok, nothing special...
The taste is so goooood. A lotta vegan options. I tried fried avocado eggplant taco. Perfecto
100% must eat here! Best Mexican food I have ever had. VEGAN OPTIONS GALORE! I got the “Can’t believe it’s not chicken burrito” even has vegan sour cream. Salas’s is very authentic and delicious. Also, had a fresh asparagus salad perfect combo of tang, creamy avocado, crunch from pumpkin seeds amazing. Honestly everything was top notch. Owner, Bob, is as nice as they come and you can tell he is passionate about making delicious vegan food, balanced, with good mouth feel too. Loved seeing his passion for beautiful delicious food. He has amazing vegan cheeses! I tried feta very good flavor and mozzarella great Louth feel and chew/stretch. His vegan meats (to die for but no animals had to die for. he has vegan chicken, steak, and mahi-mahi but I can only vouch for the chicken which was perfection. We will be back before we leave Bali, hopefully more than once. I don’t find it to be a draw back that they also serve meat. My husband is not vegan so I actually find that to be a major plus. We can both eat and are thrilled about the food. this would be 5 stars if happy cow allowed 5 stars for non-fully vegan restaurants.
