Technologically, both wines were well made. Precise, concious winemaking. However, I was expecting more depth and complexity, especially from the red blend. I felt partial whole bunch (carbonic) maceration, so it's a fruit forward, easy drinking red. Villages level, if you will. Don't expect too much. Tasting amounts are small (0.5 dl) and 450? yen for the red, which I found not be of a good value. However, I wanted to experience the Japanese terroir. The red grape juice, on the other hand, was excellent!
Great wine, professional staff, easy access. The winery will produce its own wine with its own grapes later this year.
Japanese Wine Is now a reality and the Akiu Winery is Indeed One of the best protagonists in this newborn market. The variety of wine Is excellent, the quality very good and the ambient elegant and minimal. Very recomended!
Good place to visit and take rest. Owner is super kind and can speak fluently English. You can have wine and appetizer while looking at vineyard.
I was worried about it before. I bought a drink takeout and wine. In the shop, we also sold snacks that seem to match wine such as homemade wine, Zao cheese and winener. The 畑yard is very well located around the building, and you can barbecue on the terrace. I thought that it would be the best barbecue while drinking wine in summer, but I wanted to use it if it was a little more calm.
