The sauces were on the sweeter side, which is typical for South Korea. However, a downside was that the seating was directly under the air conditioning, causing the food to cool quickly. It is advisable to go early when they open or order online as they sell out fast. The restaurant is located in an old market, up a flight of stairs, through another market, and into a food court. It is difficult to find and you have to pass through a wet market with questionable meats and poor conditions. Due to the market and location, I do not plan on returning, which is disappointing.
The restaurant is located in a less-than-desirable area, and the food is both overly sweet and served cold. Customers should be aware that they will need to pass through a local market with various food stalls, resembling more of a canteen than a traditional restaurant. The special dish advertised as Korean chicken is actually made from mushrooms, with the option of plain or spicy sauce for an additional cost. I opted for a combination of both for 19k, but found the dish to be excessively sweet, almost like pure sugar. Despite its crunchy texture and vegan-friendly nature, the dish arrived lukewarm and lacked any accompanying fries or complimentary water. In conclusion, the meal was not only cold and overly sweet, but also overpriced considering the subpar location. I appreciated the plain option which helped balance out the excessive sweetness of the sauce. This review was updated from a previous one on 10/28/2022.
The fried chicken was so much better than i expected. a mix of seitan and mushrooms, and both sauces were really good. i loved the sandwich and can’t wait to try more. the waffle wasn’t mind blowing but it kept me going back for more. monte cristo was sweet and savory goodness. will definitely be going back asap. edit: tried again after the chicken has been taken off the menu and breads have been changed to croissants or croffles. they are just so so.. I have not visited the restaurant in person, but I tried their croffle at Vegan Festa in Seoul. I was excited to try a croffle in Korea and was pleased that they offered a vegan version. However, I found it to be a bit too sweet for my taste, especially with the cream on top.
The vegan café serves stylish sandwiches, waffles, and croiffles. The food is delicious but on the pricey side, and the location can be a bit tricky to locate.
