Delicious food especially the chorizo croquettes and garlic prawns. Wonderful friendly staff. Amazing sounds of the sea while we ate. Highly recommend
Right on the seafront, very reasonably priced, the food was unbelievably good. A real gem. Try the gambas and the croquettes!
What started out as a quiet birthday celebration with two mums and their daughters was completely ruined by irrationally aggressive staff. The girls 16 years old used the toilet and got stuck as the door knob broke. Of course this initially caused much giggling, which was interpreted by one member of staff as malicious behaviour and so as the situation was being resolved, the girls were shouted and screamed at by said member of staff. She also rudely shoved one of the girls out of the way as they left the toilet. She indirectly accused them of vandalism despite another member of staff having been overheard saying that the door was broken “again”. When I approached the remaining bar staff to lodge a complaint, the attitude was different and almost apologetic. I say almost because was ensued was a long line of excuses which were meant to pardon her inexplicable aggression. Although the manager ? was appeasing, he did little to defuse the situation but rather offered us our drinks on the house. Unfortunately the only possible conclusion we can arrived at is that said staff member made assumptions based on the girls’ age and acted based on these. I deeply regret leaving the bar without having taken this further as I find this situation inexcusable and a pure example of ageism. Needless to say that my niece’s sweet 16 was definitely anything but.
I have been to By The Sea Lounge in May 2017 and July 2017, and can't get enough of this place. The décor brought me in and then Pedro made me the Best Mojito in the World and kept me yearning to go back to this quaint and very cool place every time I visit my family in Portugal. The beautiful view of the ocean and the gorgeous sunsets all makes it for a very unique experience in Sesimbra. I was able to share this experience with my son in May and then my husband in July and they both loved the atmosphere and the staff immensely. The place is getting popular so you may have to wait a bit for your drinks and food but just enjoy the view of the ocean and relax to the sound of the awesome playlist and the sound of the waves. The cheese platter is amazing as well as the tosta mista and all the cocktails are all good but I am totally biased towards Pedro's exquisite Mojito. You are guaranteed to have a good experience at By The Sea Lounge even if all you want is a coffee after dinner.
