A-mar Setubal

Cool idea and nice presentation but unfortunately was not the best. They didn't had the typical bobba, instead they had some weird crunchy bubble.

After having visited this restaurant several times and having given it a possitive review I now have to amend this after disappointing experiences the last 2 times. I ordered the fish dish a la carte. The entree (oysters) was fine but the main dish was cold inside the fish. The worst was our experience on 21 January 2018. We reserved for 10 persons, well in advance. We had to wait over an hour for the food to start arriving. Then it arrived haphazardly over a 45 min period. Some of the dishes were cold and french fries were soggy. My pork cheeks , one piece was cold inside. A true disaster this lunch! We will not go back again. A pity because initially this restaurant was good. The fault is the kitchen as the table service did what it could. It seems they changed the cook?

Having visited this new restaurant several times, we have consistently liked it. The cuisine is visible from the restaurant and features a real and excellent chef. Cuisine is modern and of excellent quality. The business lunch during weekdays is very good too. A la carte menu is not big but the dishes are really good. You don 't go here to be on the cheap though. Wines are of an excellent choice. Next to the restaurant is a very nice café and shop for local produce and wines. Setubal features mostly cheap fish restaurants, or if meat the quantities have to be big. It is hoped that a better class restaurant like this will survive in Setubal, since most locals want big quanties and cheap food.

Great birthday meal with the family. Had a great time in A-mar Setubal. The seabar from the market was very fresh and the meat was so soft. The service was great, we'll return to A-mar very soon!

Very nice experience to try traditional Portuguese food in Setubal. The people at the restaurant are very nice and welcoming also. Very reasonable prices.
