It's always a pleasure going there! Christophe and Julie are really good hosts, and the place has their sweet familiar vibe. They are very welcoming and friendly! The food is really good, freshly prepared, and they are always happy to customise their dishes to people's preferences. I've been there with a few different groups (large small , and invariably everyone leaves with a happy tummy and soul :
As I was getting ready to write my review, I saw that someone else had just called Brisas their favorite restaurant in Setúbal. It’s my favorite, too. Brisas is my family’s special occasion restaurant, romantic evening restaurant, get together with friends restaurant, and our guests from out of town restaurant. It’s also a great place to go for a simple lunch or dinner, or even just a glass of wine at one of their sidewalk tables. Food is always delicious, menu selections diverse enough to satisfy everyone, and service is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices.
This is my favorite restaurant here in Setúbal. The food is always good. Different selections every night and always good. We've been there as a couple and (more than likely with a group of friends. The food is always good (have I mentioned that? the service great and the atmosphere extremely pleasant.
As my hosts explained to me, Brisas is a newer restaurant opened by a young couple who, I conclude, have limited capital and are trying to make it on talent. They deserve to make it, they have the talent. The location is along one of Setubal's many attractive alleyways, in a little storefront that holds relatively few tables--in good weather you may also sit on the sidewalk. Your restaurateurs will offer 3 plates a day, changing each day--on this occasion our choices were chicken skewers, squid, or salad with tuna. Our hostess said that if we wanted beef they could get some--and I'm told it's not unusual to see one of them popping out to a nearby shop and brining back a sack of ingredients. We got pitchers of both red and white Sangria--Portuguese Sangria is amazing, this evening it contained fresh strawberris among the other fruits. My entree was the squid--a half-dozen little ones, nicely seasoned and sauteed, served with rice, salad, and mixed vegetables. Others in our party had the other entrees, and all agreed the food is fine. I went for the dessert--choices were a chocolate cake or ice cream, I went for mango ice cream--it was full of fresh flavor! So it's a quirky place, but if you'd like rather reasonably priced authentic Portugeues cooked with a good level of skill, this is as good a choice as you can make.
