The staff is very nice, and the tapas quite original and tasty! And there is quite a few Azorean tapas to try. :D Spring and Summer sound promising, as live music will be back!
I've peeked the menu of this restaurant, on another more busy day, and yesterday we decided to give it a try. Everything was perfect, from the quality of the products to the confection of the dishes, I have no words to describe how satisfied we were when we finished the meal. We are certainly coming back for more.
I waited 1,5 hours for a toast with salmon. i was with a group. one dish came after the other, mine last. and then i didn't even like it. many people left because nobody served them. very, very bad
Nice and cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, very good quality-price value, good location (right in the town centre). A must!
During a 9-day trip to Portugal from the US, I traveled to Setubal with my family of 6, and we spent a lovely afternoon in the Arrabida Natural Park. It was around 4pm and we were searching for a restaurant as everyone was starving. Most of the places we stopped at were closed at this time of day. We wandered into Tasca do Xarroque, and the door was open, but the owner Monica told us they were closed. She could sense our disappointment and then offered to serve us. We had the most amazing meal! She was alone in the restaurant, and served as bartender, waitress, cook, and dishwasher. The pumpkin jam with cheese and bread was so delicious, as was the chicken salad with pineapple, and the pork with berry salad. We finished the meal with moscatel setubal, and doce na lata. What made the meal special was the special touches by Monica, her personalization and the recommendations she made to us. It was by far the best meal we had in our 9 days in Portugal!
