Thorn's Showcase Lounge - Seward

It's definitely not closed; we were there just last week. Although it was quite busy, we managed to find two seats at the end of the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I tried one of the local beers (though I can't remember which one), and it was excellent. The menu isn't extensive, but we both ordered burgers, which were delicious and quite large. The tater tots were good, but the Brussels sprouts with cranberries were a delightful surprise. The prices were reasonable, especially considering this is Alaska, where costs can be sky-high. Overall, this meal was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We also appreciated the nostalgic decor and the impressive collection of liquor bottles behind the bar.

Our group came here at the recommendation of a guide on our boat trip earlier that day and we were very happy with it. Great atmosphere, good prices and the service and food were right on. I only deduct one star because their large bucket of 'but is actually just a standard salad bowl of fried halibut. It was delicious and plenty for the price, but I really had my heart set on that bucket landing in front of me! Don 't let my semantics sway you though, this place is gold.

The halibut is fantastic and the White Russians are delicious!

The fish and chips here are fantastic! I recently looked them up for someone else and saw that they were closed. I hope they have reopened since then.

This is the best restaurant in Seward! It's disappointing that it's often closed when I visit from Anchorage these past few years. It's a big loss for the town, as there aren't many great dining options available anymore.
