Back Alley Pie - SEWICKLEY

I wanted this place to be so so good. I still want it to be good!! They need to make some improvements though. The other two restaurants they own are fairly good (minus the price). The crust is some frozen restaurant supply brand. It has no taste whatsoever. I know handmaid and tossed takes time and people to do it, but even homemade and frozen would be better. Another reviewer mentioned lack of ingredients. I would agree that if you get something with short rib on it, you are getting mere strings here and there. I could slightly excuse this if the crust were better. The interesting thing is at their other restaurant (Nauti Taco) they do not skimp on toppings. We had the cheeseburger pizza and the Korean. Cheeseburger was ok but too much mustard as the sauce. The Korean was ok but lacked enough toppings. I feel like if they made an effort to fix the crust, maybe offer more toppings, they would be great.

This is a huge letdown considering the quality from the other two restaurants. Patio is great. Premade frozen not so great crust but they do have some interesting toppings that could make it stand out but nope. For this price you can get substantially better pies.

It was a beautiful night so we thought we’d give this place a try. Wow what a let down. We shouldHave just turned around when we saw the little countertop ovens. The young man working there was pretty clueless about everything. We put our order in sat outside in the courtyard. After waiting for 30 minutes, my husband walked in asked if our pizza was done and the kid said “oh yeah, I was going to bring it out”. We took our short 5 minute walk home opened a cold pizza that was the WRONG order.It was pre made frozen crust, nothing artisan about it.It wasn’t even busy! I can’t imagine what they would do if it was.Seriously such a disappointment. We have had the same experience with Nauti Taco. This makes us so sad as this restaurant group has several establishments in the village.

I specifically asked for “no freezer flavor topping”. But it seems they gave me double freezer flavor topping. Who knew freezer flavor was even a topping?

Save your money a store bought frozen pizza is better than this place! A “large” 8 cut pepperoni is $12.50. Tastes like cardboard.
