There is a large indoor seating area for 160 people, as well as an outdoor area where we sat under vine leaves on a sunny day - it doesn't get much better than that! We started with the antipasto platter, which included cold meats, homemade marinated vegetables with smoked mozzarella, gnocchi fritto, and house-made bread. Everything was delicious and fresh. We also enjoyed the polenta chips with rosemary, Parmesan salad, and aioli. Main dishes around the table included pizzas, steak sandwiches, saffron tagliolini with razor prawns, calamari, white wine, garlic, and ground onions. There was also a 26-day aged porterhouse steak with roasted Tuscan potatoes, green beans, caramelized onions, and red wine jus. I chose the gnocchi with lamb ragu, which was soft potato parcels with tasty stewed lamb in a flavorful tomato sauce. Yum! Overall, this restaurant is perfect for a day out.
We have dined at this restaurant several times and are always impressed by the food! The staff is also impeccable. The drive up from the northern regions of Melbourne is definitely worth it.
I understand why this restaurant has such high Google ratings. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy with the fireplace on. The food was excellent - all four of us ordered something different and everyone was satisfied. I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly (medium-rare), flavorful, and tender. The portion size was just right for me. The chutney/sauce that came with it was delicious, and it was served with gravy, chat potatoes, and cauliflower. My friends ordered the pollo pizza, prosciutto-wrapped chicken, and seafood pasta, all of which were served quickly. It was a healthy and satisfying option for us on our road trip.
What a pleasant surprise! We saw the reviews and decided to give The Winery Kitchen a try and so glad we did. The staff are so friendly and nice, the food is absolutely delicious and the fireplace keeps the restaurant nice and toasty on cold days. This little cafe is a must try. It’s so nice to take a break from a long road trip in such a lovely place.
Currently on course 4 of the 5 course chef's choice dégustation and I could not recommend more. The single most delicious dish I've eaten this year, at least. Fantastic service and a delicious, beautiful menu.
