Very disappointed with the quality of the food. I had chicken parmesean which was tasteless and smothered with tomato sauce. My wife had a shrimp and pasta dish with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms and the sauce was too creamy and overwhelmed the ingredients. The service was fair at best. Worst meal we have had in a long time. The price was high compared to many other good Italian restaurant's we've eaten at in Wilmington.
Great food! This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. Started with good sized fresh Caesar salads and complimentary focaccia bread. I had salmon with a crushed walnut topping, with dill sauce and served over zucchini “spaghetti” My husband had short rib over fresh pasta. Food is scrumptious! Delightful but harried waitress that was covering too many tables.
Had a wonderful dining experience with friends last evening. Our server was very cordial, and knowledgeable. Meals were delivered prompt and hot! Food quantity was more than we could eat, and took leftovers home. Prices are average for today's dining. Will definitely dine at Lucca's again. My only suggestion would be to brighten up the restaurant a bit was rather dark.
The ambience is weak and drab and oxymoronic with the food offered, at least at the “premium” portion of an attractive menu. The food was of very good quality. Unfortunately, it's shared with good quality Italian pizzeria offerings. It's almost a schizophrenic experience. People dressed for a white tablecloth experience mixed together with a tee shirt and cargo short crowd! I'm still confused! But I think we enjoyed our meal. Not sure I'll find my way back.
