Paleteria Tropicana Shawnee

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I walked in and stood at the counter for 2 minutes with no help. No one greeted me. The owner just stood there stocking sodas. 2 people looked at me and said nothing. Obviously I was invisible. That was my first time going there and I’ll never go again.

We went in for a funnel cake. It was taken out of refrigeration and microwaved. It looked good, but it was tough and awful ?

I really enjoy this restaurant! My go-to order is the mangoneada (a mango and Tajin treat), but they have many other delicious items on the menu, like the eschamocha and chocolate-covered bananas.

The restaurant was small and basic. There wasn't much variety in the dessert selection. I tried the bubblegum and cheesecake flavors. The bubblegum flavor had a strong acidic aftertaste, and the cheesecake was just okay, I've had better. The lady working there was very friendly.

I find the reviews here to be a little harsh. It's a small place and gets busy on weekends, but there's nothing suspicious about it and it's not as dirty as some reviews claim. The owners put in a lot of hard work. Everything I tried was good, but my favorite by far was the mangoneada. It's spicy, juicy, salty, and fruity. The price is reasonable too. We need more local family-owned businesses like this instead of big chains, so please show your support!
